(8) More Vincent

One these things is not like the other. Remember that Sesame Street song? Well, I just realized that the train painting in my loo on the left is not a Vang Gogh but done actually for the promotion of the 2017 movie "Loving Vincent" which was all animated. On my bathroom was is merely a rendering of Vincent's "The Bridge of Asniere". The original one looked like that below.... painted in 1887. So occasionally one has to trust what AI tells us.... I wonder what filter they used for the film making...

I used to ignore Van Gogh for the longest time, seen his works so many times and made into commercial products everywhere, I just didn't take him seriously. But lately his colours and contrasts are just too jolly to ignore.  So glad he didn't adjust his palette to his moods. The yellows and his blues are just incredible- yes, even tremendous, as a certain orange coloured lunatic loves to say....

The middle one is called "Starry Night over the Rhone" painted in Arles in 1888. I love the couple in the bottom right hand corner, barely visible, out for an evening stroll. And I dare say I like it better than the famous other Starry Night.

The third painting, "The Alyscamp"  (below) was also done in Arles in 1888 and depicts - who knows- the same couple out for a  day walk along poplar trees. It depicts an avenue of graves from Roman times. VVG painted a better one of this road called "L'Allee des Alyscamps", better because the graves are more pronounced.

Anyway, I think this is a jolly trio from across the loo.
